What is TeleHealth? You may be seeing ads on T.V. where the man lifts up his shirt to the web cam doctor. TeleHealth is simply; Health Services delivered through electronic communications. This could be through Video Conferencing, Chat sites or Text based websites. Health professionals using TeleHealth sites are required to assure that communications are secure from outside access, and confidential. That’s why physicians, counselors etc, don’t use the normal and free video conferencing products. I primary use secure Video Conferencing, as it allows an easier back and forth conversation with people, and I can give immediate feedback. All of my Video Conferencing sites are secure and confidential. None of the sessions are recorded, although I do keep written notes of our work together in order to track progress towards your goals.
Which TeleHealth format should you use? It all depends on your comfort level and need. If you are more comfortable speaking directly with a counselor/coach, than video conferencing or in-person sessions are best suited for you. If you communicate easily in written form, or are limited on time and resources, then chat or text based sites maybe your best option. The benefit of TeleHealth is that it’s affordable and convenient. For Tele Health Video Conferencing sessions; you’ll need a computer with a camera and microphone, and an internet connection. You can enjoy your services in the comfort of your home or office.
TeleHealth is fairly new in the counseling/coaching world, but it’s quickly gaining ground. It’s a wonderful way to reach people that are unable to travel to an in-person session, because of distance or busy schedules.
I would love to hear from you, and offer a free 15 minute consultation by phone, video conferencing or in-person. Just hit the “Let’s Get Started” button on the website, and schedule some time for us to discuss how counseling or coaching can be helpful for you. I’ll also be posting weekly blogs, and I’m available on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, all under Teri Beemer.
